Attention all brand-name vendors or manufacturers of audio-visual, consumer electronic, and information & communications technology products! IEC/EN 62368-1 is set to replace the existing IEC/EN 60950-1 (ITE product standard) and IEC/EN 60065 (audio-visual product standard). The new IEC/EN 62368-1 standard will give developers more flexibility on design, but also make safety requirements harder to master. Affected products include electrical and electronic equipment, audio-visual products, ICT products, and office automation equipment under 600V.

Products certified under the existing EN 60950-1 and EN 60065 standards must be in adherence with the new EN 62368-1: 2004+A11:2017 standard by June 20, 2019. Vendors applying for CB certification can start introducing the IEC 62368-1:2014 standard now.
